From 2019 to 2021, Onda led the European cooperation project Reshape (Reflect / SHare / Practice / Experiment), bringing together a consortium of 13 partners and 6 associate partners, with the participation of 40 artists, activists, and arts professionals (“Reshapers”) . Reshape was funded with support from the European Commission. One of Reshape’s unique features was bringing together a wide variety of professionals from the arts sector—including artists, intermediary organizations, venues, and festivals—from Europe and the southern Mediterranean, considering global interconnections and giving voice to those whose voices are least heard, beyond differences.
Reshape is a forward-looking cooperation project dedicated to addressing the new challenges facing the arts sector by exploring ways to achieve greater equity, solidarity, and sustainability within the sector. Reshape has sought to shift perspectives and radically transform value systems, working methods, and criteria in project management, thereby fostering new visions and the potential for profound transformations.
Through working groups and a bottom-up approach, Reshape explored six topics: arts and citizenship, equitable governance models, the value of art in the social fabric, solidarity-based financing (renamed “solidarity economies”), and transnational/postnational artistic practices.
