Onda regularly invites its partners to consultation days, which provide an opportunity to engage in professional dialogue and collectively reflect on the necessary transformations in the sector and priorities for action.
In 2023, in order to develop new directions for its project that are closely aligned with the challenges and needs of its partners (institutions, venues, festivals, and artistic teams), L’Onda adopted a bottom-up, participatory approach. As part of this effort, four consultation days were held on January 9–10 and February 6–7, 2023.
About one hundred directors of organizations of varying sizes and scopes as well as artists and members of collaborative organizations in France and abroad gathered at the Onda’s offices to collectively determine a new positioning for the agency in light of the societal, economic, and environmental transitions that are currently having a significant impact on the cultural sector. Several sets of questions and recommendations emerged from the meeting, which you can find in this Summary (in French). The new directions were also informed by the work of other French organizations such as Syndeac, Arviva, and the “Produce Better—Distribute Better” plan from the Ministry of Culture’s DGCA (Direction générale de la création artistique).
