International engagement is an essential part of Onda’s DNA and is based on an understanding of geographical, territorial, and historical interdependencies. It takes into account the interplay between the local, national, and international levels.
While Onda has always been very active in supporting the hosting of foreign artists in France through the internationalization of venues and festivals, its priorities have evolved in response to the challenges facing the performing arts within a global geopolitical context.
As this context is marked by significant tensions and systemic transformations, international relations remain precarious, and the need for international engagement is sometimes difficult to uphold in the face of the multiple pressures weighing on professionals in the sector (see context in the “Guiding Principles” tab).
