We warmly invite you to Onda’s international programming meeting taking place on March 28th and 29th 2024 at MC93 - Maison de la culture de Seine-Saint-Denis in Bobigny (Paris suburb), on the theme of (in)visibility and (in)justice.
Organised in collaboration with Relais Culture Europe and MC93, this meeting will include a space for artistic discussions, where you can engage in conversations about international performances, identify potential projects, and exchange information regarding upcoming tours and collaborations, as well as a space for reflection and provocation.
Programming organisations are facing more and more challenges when hosting and presenting international artists. The act of programming seems to be caught up in battles that are currently occupying the world, be they geopolitical, environmental, economic, or social.
This meeting is an invitation to reflect together on what can be and cannot be made visible on our stages today. Visibility obstacles reveal underlying social, economic, and political injustices that we may risk accentuating if we do not collectively strive to overcome them. While acknowledging our different contexts and often diverging approaches, we will attempt to highlight means to reimagine our programming and collaboration practices in such a way that guarantees fair visibility.
Two international performances are on the program: Sands of the emperor by Victor de Oliveira (Mozambique) at MC93 and La Ciudad de los Otros / La Mentira Complaciente by Rafael Palacios - Sankofa Danzafro (Colombia) at Théâtre de la Ville Paris. You will also have the chance to attend a project presentation of Yes daddy, the upcoming work of palestinian artist Bashar Murkus - al Khashabi theatre (Haifa), in the presence of the artists.
The meeting will take place in English and French, with simultaneous translation in both languages.
Meeting open to all professionals in the sector, by invitation only. If you have any questions, please contact Clarisse Dupouy-Greteau (clarisse.dupouy-greteau@onda.fr).
Registration deadline: 20 march 2024.
