For its 21st edition, which took place from September 6 to 28, the Biennale de la danse de Lyon presented FORUM, a new international space for dialogue, reflection, and exchange of practices to discover how, in different contexts and territories, art and dance resonate with societal, identity, and ecological issues.
Through performances, artistic experiences, conferences, round tables, collective practice sessions, and more, five international artists/collectives—Marrugeku (Australia), Original Bomber Crew (Brazil), Idio Chichava (Mozambique), Fangas Nayaw (Taiwan) et devynn emory (United States), in collaboration with five curators living in these non-European territories, Angela Conquet (Australia), Nayse Lopez (Brazil), Quito Tembe (Mozambique), River Lin (Taiwan) et Angela Mattox (United States), invited participants to discover practices and imaginaries that mobilize senses and sense-abilities.
We met with two of the artists, Fangas Nayaw and Allexandre Bomber from Original Bomber Crew, to discuss the uniqueness of the Forum and their involvement in this project, conceived as a space of resistance.
