The Charter, a goal, a method

How can the dissemination of independent teams be efficiently and durably supported?

This question is at the heart of the missions that Onda, Agence Culturelle Grand Est, OARA, Occitanie en scène, ODIA Normandie and Spectacle vivant en Bretagne have been developing in relation to regional, national or international scales.

While an effective local presence is a prerequisite for the success of the artistic teams, projecting beyond their region of origin is just as important. It is in this dynamic, based on the complementary nature of interregional and international competences, that a partnership has been forged between the six organisations.

United since 2008 by the Charter for Dissemination*, Onda and the members of La Collaborative (Agence Culturelle Grand Est, OARA, Occitanie en scène, ODIA Normandie and Spectacle vivant en Bretagne) have pooled their efforts, their expertise and networking abilities as well as their financial means to support dissemination around productions selected collectively.

The actions defined by the Charter for Dissemination are as follows:

1.The coordinated scouting of work by artistic teams** that does not yet have sufficient national visibility, that it is appropriate to integrate into a national dynamic or for which international dissemination needs to be improved.

2. For the artistic teams whose productions have been selected, customised support regarding structuring and dissemination, possible coverage of expenses to provide visibility at fringe festivals or international fairs, subsidising of communication costs in particular to encourage the production of live recordings and teasers.

3. For the programming structures hosting the selected shows, reinforced and systematic financial support. Onda participates by providing a financial guarantee and the regional agencies participate in the travel and transport expenses throughout the national territory.

It should be noted that a co-producer may be eligible for financial support, insofar as the latter proposes a number of performances greater than what it usually programmes.

For more details on the precise conditions applying to this support, please do not hesitate to contact the Charter partners.

* The Charter for Dissemination (Charte d’aide à la diffusion) was signed in 2008 by Onda, OARA, ODIA Normandie and Occitanie en scène, then by Arcadi Île-de-France in 2010, Spectacle vivant en Bretagne in 2013, Culture O centre in 2015 and l’Agence Culturelle Grand Est in 2018. Culture O centre and Arcadi left the project in 2016 and 2018.

** located in Grand-Est, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Occitanie, Normandy and Brittany.
